ACE Chemical has been awarded IMO (International Maritime Organization) approval under the revised MARPOL Annex II, tank cleaning additives for eight products!

 

The tank cleaning additives are evaluated by the Sub-Committee on Bulk Liquids and Gases (BLG) according to MEPC.1/Circ.590 in order to protect the marine environment from adverse effects related to their use.

4)ACE 9005 Heavy Duty Alkaline Cleaner
5)ACE 9011 Heavy Duty Cleaner
6)ACE 9020 Liquid Rig Wash
7)ACE 9026 Hydrocarbon Remover
8)ACE 9027 Sodium Hypochlorite 12% Solution

 

In line with the decision taken by the Marine Environment Protection Committee at its fifty-sixth session, cleaning additives in Annex 10 submitted before 1 January 2007, which were evaluated through MEPC/Circ.363, will cease to be valid after 31st July 2010 as a result of the updating of hazard profiles in the light of new data, proposed systematic review of chapter 17 & 18 of the IBC code. To maintain a listing beyond this date, a re-evaluation of the cleaning additives concerned, in accordance with the revised guidelines given in MEPC.1/Circ.590 is required.
